High selectivity (> 99%) of Monoethylene glycol is achieved via the intermediate stage of ethylene carbonate. Monoethylene glycol is used as an antifreeze, corrosion inhibitor in coolants and in the manufacture of polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET).<\/p>\n
